My Priorities and Focus:
As a Gilbert Public Schools Board member, I will commit to ensuring the following priorities:
Attracting and Retaining Excellence: Work to retain outstanding teachers, staff, and administrators who are dedicated to fostering a positive, enriching learning environment for all students.
Curriculum Excellence: Approve research-backed, comprehensive curriculum that caters to the needs of our students and prepares them for success in the future.
Support for the Local Workforce: Provide high-quality education that equips students with the skills necessary to thrive in our local business community, ensuring a strong talent pipeline for future employment.
Effective Use of Resources: Prioritize the allocation of budget funds to promote academic achievement and support the continuous improvement of our schools.
Classroom Readiness: Ensure that every classroom is well-equipped with the tools and next level technology needed to enhance the learning experience.
Fair Compensation: Advocate for competitive and fair compensation for our teachers and support staff, recognizing their invaluable role in our students' success.
Community Transparency: Enhance communication with residents, to help the community better understand district expenditures and financial priorities.
Campus Safety and Security: Make safety and security a top priority on every campus, exploring all avenues—including state and federal grants—to increase the presence of School Resource Officers (SROs) and School Safety Officers (SSOs).
Staff Training for Safety: Invest in ongoing training for teachers and staff to ensure they are well-equipped to protect students, themselves, and the school environment.
Effective Communication: Foster strong, timely communication between the district, Gilbert Police Department (GPD), and parents, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and involved as important issues arise.
Together, these actions will help ensure that Gilbert Public Schools continues to provide a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment for every student.
